Beccles Open Gardens and Courtyards

This event is resting for 2020
Sorry, but Beccles Open Gardens and Courtyards isn't running this year. We'll keep you posted about next year's event details when they are known, but in the meantime we include below details from a previous year to remind you about the event

approx 10 gardens opened Beccles, bordering Norfolk and Suffolk
Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July 2018
10.00am to 4.00pm

As before, Beccles Open Gardens takes place as an integral part of Beccles Charter Weekend.

This year we are resting most of our private gardens, with the notable exception of St Peter's House (a magnificently located town centre garden running down to the water's edge), allowing our focus to be on less accessible and less well known gardens and courtyards in the town such as the Hungate Church secret garden, the hidden courtyards at Graze and El Andaluz, the grounds of the Conservative Club (Saturday only), the vegetable garden and orchard at Hippersons Boatyard, the QEII and WW1 commemorative garden at the Museum (open to Museum visitors throughout the weekend), the Library sculpture garden, the inner courtyard garden at Beccles Free School and the garden at Abbeyfield House.

In addition, visitors can view the town's many hidden gardens and courtyards from the top of Beccles Tower and also its delightful riverside gardens from the Waveney Stardust (departing from the Lido) or from day boats running from Hippersons Boatyard. Also, to celebrate the town's long-standing status as a Fairtrade town, there will be a floral display outside Beale's department store.

All proceeds to local good causes.
