Cossall Open Gardens

Cossall Community Chest are pleased to organise Cossall Open Gardens and confirm there will be a range of gardens open this year including the grounds of St. Catherine's Church and a spectacularly re-vamped garden for visitors to enjoy.

Stuart Dixon, Radio Nottingham gardening expert, will give a talk in St. Catherine's Church and answer gardening questions. Stuart will also make a tour of some of the gardens.

A free mini-bus service operates from one end of Cossall to the other, look out for the stops marked on the garden map.

Tea and cakes in The Old School Room and refreshments at some of the gardens. Bric-a-brac, raffle tickets on sale and local produce sales outside. Additional attractions include a flower arranging stall, a local couple who keep bees and sell their honey, plus several new craft stalls.

Refreshments and seating along the way to help revive those tired legs.

Proceeds from the entry fee go towards refurbishment of The Old School Room community building and St. Catherine's Church. Cossall Community Chest also donate to local charities and one of this year's charities will again be Buglife - the only organisation organisation in Europe devoted to the conservation of all invertebrates.

Plant sales:  Plant sales at several gardens.

Cost:  4.00 per person, accompanied under 12s free.

Directions:  From A610, follow signs to Ilkeston at island go straight ahead to Awsworth and in 1 mile turn left to Cossall. Look out for signs at the bottom of the hill. From Nottingham head to Trowell and then turn right just before Trowell. Follow the signs for the large free car parks on the main road through Cossall.
