Elkstone Open Gardens
 | Please note This event rested in 2020 and we don't have any up to date event details. When we get updated information, we'll add it here, but in the meantime we include below event information from a previous year to remind you about the event. |
Elkstone, between Cheltenham and Cirencester, Gloucestershire Sunday 9th June 2019 2.00pm to 6.00pm
This Open Day not only allows you to amble through private gardens but also offers a unique opportunity to savour this very special Cotswold village in a way not normally accessible to the casual visitor.
In addition to seeing and enjoying the gardens you can visit our Grade 1 listed Norman church made extra special on the day with glorious flower displays, you can hear the bells, visit the bell tower, enjoy tractor rides through the surrounding countryside, play garden games, relax with cream teas, homemade cakes or ice creams and visit stalls to take back a reminder of a special day.
See the environmental initiatives in the churchyard including our wildflower Coronation Meadow, now in its second season, when we hope several species will be flowering, bug houses installed to encourage wildlife and our environmentally friendly loo.
A very special treat awaits visitors this year when our local artists, all resident in the village, combine to put on an exhibition which will show the history of the village in art and environmentally friendly art based on recycling.
Previous visitor comments include: 'Cream teas in a beautiful garden - this is England at its very best;' 'This village has such a lovely atmosphere and community spirt;' 'We saw the day mentioned in the Sunday Times this morning and have travelled from Brecon. It has been so worthwhile'.
We look forward to welcoming you. Sorry, no dogs please.
All proceeds from the event go towards the upkeep of our church and our village hall.

Plant sales There will be a plant stall in the village.
