Bamford Open Gardens
 | Please note This event rested in 2020 and we don't have any up to date event details. When we get updated information, we'll add it here, but in the meantime we include below event information from a previous year to remind you about the event. |
Bamford, Hope Valley, Derbyshire Sunday 19th July 2015 11.30am to 4.00pm
Bamford gardeners are celebrating 100 years of Bamford Gardening Society in 2015 so we are opening our gardens to visitors for the first time. We are opening in Carnival Week so the Bamford well-dressing and scarecrows will also be on show.
Bamford has plenty to explore including a beautiful river weir, Lady Bower Reservoir, Bamford Edge and many public footpaths nearby. There are also sporting events at the Recreation Ground on the same day. Away from the main road, there are some traffic-free paths, pretty cottage gardens, modern gardens and larger gardens to explore.
We have planned a route around the village. Please be aware that Bamford is fairly hilly and take care when crossing the busy main road. There is a community-owned pub and several gardens offering refreshments.
Proeeds to local charities including Ashgate Hospice and Bamford Carnival.
Plant sales Plant sales are available at several of the gardens.
Cost £4.00 adults, accompanied under 16s free.
How to get event passports Buy tickets on the day from most of the gardens, or the pavilion at the Recreation Ground.
