Woolverstone Open Gardens

Woolverstone, Suffolk Sunday 9th June 2019 10.00am to 5.00pm
Visitors will have a chance to look around a number of gardens open to the public including the phenomenal Gertrude Jekyll inspired gardens at Woolverstone House which was designed by Edwin Lutyens.
Also, thanks to the generosity of Ipswich High School, there is a chance to view the grand Palladian architecture of Woolverstone Hall and with stunning photo opportunities in the gardens overlooking the River Orwell; one of the “loveliest views in England”. There will be several guided tours of the grounds during the day starting from St. Michael’s church with an emphasis on the Hall’'s history.
Fabulous cottage gardens are open bursting with interesting flowering plants; delightful traditional vegetable gardens inspiring those interested in growing their own produce; as well as modern minimal maintenance designed gardens.
Refreshments: delicious lunches, cakes and teas will be available in Berners Hall on the Main Road.
Some disabled parking.
Proceeds to “Friends of Woolverstone”, a group dedicated to improvements in the village, and a good cause.
Cost £5.00 per adult, accompanied children free.
