Bradwell Open Gardens

Please note
This event ran in 2025 but we don't yet have this year's details. When we get them, we'll add them, but in the meantime we include below event information from last year to remind you about the event.

approx 20 gardens opened Bradwell, Hope Valley, Derbyshire
Saturday 9th August 2025
10.00am to 4.30pm

We are looking forward to welcoming visitors to our gardens in the Peak District village of Bradwell in the Hope Valley.

Bradwell is a fascinating and relatively unknown Peak District village, with a hidden side to explore where little lanes and paths connect tight-knit cottages with pretty gardens climbing up the valley on both sides. Higher up, there are fabulous views of the Hope Valley and Bradwell Edge and larger gardens to explore.

There are two routes round the village which start from St. Barnabas Church - choose one, or come for the day and do them both. As well as the gardens, there will be four wells to visit and craft and photographic exhibitions in the Church and Chapel.

There are three pubs, and delicious home-made refreshments are available at our two churches and an open-air café on Town Bottom.

This event is organised by St. Barnabas PCC and is the finale of Bradwell Well Dressing and Gala Week.

Please note, due to the steepness of some of the lanes and gardens, this may make parts of this event unsuitable for wheelchair users and pushchairs. Dogs are allowed in most gardens - this will be indicated on the map which gardens are not dog-friendly (assistance dogs welcome in all gardens).

Proceeds:  Proceeds will go towards the maintenance and upkeep of St. Barnabas Church and churchyard.

Plant sales:  Plants may be for sale in some of the gardens.

Cost:  £5.00 adults, accompanied under 11s free.
