Clavering Village's glorious gardens, from small new cottage gardens with unusual plants, to an acre with stunning views over the medieval heart of the village.
Come and see The Little House, built 1750, the smallest thatched cottage in England. Also Essex Beekeeping demonstrations and talks all day.
Chestnut Cottage by the ford, wide rambling flower beds and lots of paths and seats to enjoy the views, and some new cottage gardens with unusual plants and ponds - and great ideas for small spaces.
All gardens within easy walking distance of each other.
Teas, morning coffee, homemade cakes available all day.
All proceeds to Saffron Walden MENCAP Society.
Plant sales: Plants, summer bedding, climbers and shrubs from £1.00.
Cost: £5.00 per adult, accompanied children free, and includes The Little House, beekeeping demonstrations etc. Cash only please, and it would help everyone if you could bring exact change.

Directions: From the B1383, follow signs to Newport/Clavering; from the A10, the B1038. Parking in Middle Street or adjacent lanes, also at some gardens, and ample at the Fox and Hounds pub (also drinks and excellent lunches here).
