Probably the finest village Open Gardens in Leicestershire! Packington's 30th Village Open Gardens Day. Cream Teas and refreshments, stalls and art display, live music entertainment.

A crowd-pulling highlight at the conclusion of our Open Gardens event is the Packington Duck Race, starting at 6.00pm. Dozens of numbered plastic ducks released at the Hall Lane bridge into the village Gillwiskaw Brook drift along the brook with the stream flow, and the first duck to reach the Little Lane foot bridge finish-line is the winner. Competitors can follow their ducks from the stream banks along Mill Street. The excitement amongst the duck owners (and parents!) as the finish-line is approached has to be experienced to be believed. Prizes are awarded for each heat.

Purchase your duck from the organisers at the roadside stand in the drive of The Vicarage, Mill Street.

Duck race proceeds to charity.

Cost:  4.00 adults, accompanied children free.
