Nunney Open Gardens Day

Please note This event ran in 2025 but we don't yet have this year's details. When we get them, we'll add them, but in the meantime we include below event information from last year to remind you about the event.

11.00am to 5.00pm

Gardens of all varieties and sizes will be open in this beautiful and historic village which is centred around the 14th century, moated Nunney Castle, managed by English Heritage.

The Nunney & District Flower Show (NDFS) committee will be offering homemade cakes and cream teas all day in the Village Hall. The church will also be offering sandwiches and light refreshments and the George Inn and The Café at Nunney will both be open to visitors.

Please note that due to our hilly garden terrain, all but a few gardens present difficulties for wheel users - please contact us for details.

No dogs other than assistance dogs in the gardens or village hall, please.

Proceeds:  All NDFS proceeds help to fund the traditional Nunney & District Flower Show that was originally set up in 1884, the Village Fete and NDFS sponsorships for horticultural, craft, educational, sustainable and ecologically-friendly projects in Nunney.

Plant sales:  There will be a well-stocked plant stall at the Village Hall.

Cost:  £10.00 adults, accompanied under 16s free.

Directions / Parking:  Taking the A361 from Frome to Shepton Mallet, turn off at Nunney Catch roundabout (Esso Garage and Oldhams Car Wash) and follow signs down to the Market Place in the centre of Nunney. Turn left across the old bridge in the Market Square, and head 150m up the road to park in the Old Quarry Gardens Visitor’s car park on the right, please, because we must keep the main roads free for farming and local traffic. On foot, the Village Hall can easily be reached from the Market Square in the centre of Nunney and from the bottom of Berry Hill. A five-minute walk from Old Quarry car park. Follow the signs.
