Winsham Open Gardens and Scarecrow Trail
 | This event is resting for 2026 Sorry, but Winsham Open Gardens and Scarecrow Trail isn't running this year. We'll keep you posted about next year's event details when they are known, but in the meantime we include below details from a previous year to remind you about the event |
Winsham, between Chard and Beaminster, Somerset Saturday 28th June 2025 10.30am to 5.30pm
Situated at the southern most tip of Somerset, a few hundred yards from the Dorset border and yet only a couple of miles from the border with Devon, Winsham nestles in the Axe valley. Saxon in origin, it has retained its name for over 1000 years and is mentioned in the Domesday book.
Opened in 2021 for the first time in 16 years, we again have a varied and interesting selection for you to amble around this year. At least a quarter of the gardens are new to our event and many of our regular gardens have further evolved since you last visited.
There will be a scarecrow trail, and this year the church tower will also be open so you can get a birds-eye view of the village. Several of the villagers are also holding yard sales on the same day so there'll be plenty to keep you occupied.
There will be refreshments available in some gardens.
Sorry, no dogs other than assistance dogs allowed in the gardens.
Proceeds: All proceeds will be divided between Winsham Horticultural Society (for the running of the annual show) and Alzheimers Research.
