Great Bedwyn Open Gardens
 | Please note This event rested in 2025 and we don't have any up to date event details. When we get updated information, we'll add it here, but in the meantime we include below event information from a previous year to remind you about the event. |
Great Bedwyn, southeast of Marlborough, Wiltshire Sunday 16th June 2024 1.00pm to 5.00pm
St. Marys Church Great Bedwyn is the centre of a small rural village.
This year we have combined Open Gardens with celebrating our Rain Garden as part of the first UK community-led Rain Garden project. Like other villages, Great Bedwyn has had some serious flooding issues recently and has worked with Action for the River Kennet (ARK) over the past year to build Rain Gardens and install rain planters and water butts to slow up runoff and harvest much more rain water.
There are many beautiful gardens throughout the village, all within walking distance of St. Marys Church, which is the centre of our small rural village, including large formal gardens and pretty cottage gardens. You can also visit rain gardens at the school and surgery.
The Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire will open the event at 12.30pm at Great Bedwyn School.
Refreshments, hot and cold drinks, rolls and home made cakes will be available in Church.
