Winster Secret Gardens

 approx 25 gardens opened Winster, between Matlock and Bakewell, Derbyshire
Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July 2025
1.30pm to 5.30pm

As always, we will have a good range of hidden and secret gardens to discover around our beautiful historic Peak District village.

The Winster Millennium Tapestry will be on show and other attractions include craft sales, children's Gnome Hunt and live jazz on both days, plus Winster Morris Dancers on Saturday, and a free 45 minute concert by renowned local group Wyns Tor Singers in the church on Sunday.

New for 2025 - visitors will be able to peer down one of Winster’s historic lead mining shafts. The Orchard Mine shaft, in the centre of the village, will be illuminated with historic artefacts on show.

Home-made refreshments available in several gardens.

Proceeds:  Proceeds are in aid of our village hall, the Burton Institute and other village organisations.

Plant sales:  There will be plants from Winster-based Peak Cottage Plants.

Cost:  £6.00 per day or £9.00 for both days, accompanied children free.

How to get tickets / programmes:  On the day from outside the Market House in Main Street, and from the Park and Ride car park. Card payments accepted.

Directions / Parking:  Winster is on the B5057 (which runs from the A6 at Darley Dale). The B5056 (Bakewell to Ashbourne) skirts the top of the village. Free Park and Ride - look out for the signs on entry to the village.
