Bradninch Musical Gardens
This event rested in 2020 and we don't have any up to date event details. When we get updated information, we'll add it here, but in the meantime we include below event information from a previous year to remind you about the event.
Bradninch, near Exeter, Devon
Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June 2019
12.00noon to 5.00pm
Imagine wandering through a pretty garden admiring the planting, when you hear the gentle strains of live music on the summer air. This is the pleasure that awaits visitors when the village opens its gardens ranging from stately homes to historic cottages. Wandering musicians will entertain visitors with all types of music from classical to jazz.
We are working hard to make it the magical community event it once was. With have a good range of gardens open, we can offer the broadest variety of gardens be they large or small, vegetable or colourful, from potagers to just pots. With the right mix the weekend can be a wonderful time for families, the young and not so young and for the gardeneers.
New to this year is the 'Trinity' meander. Two gardens are opening in the hamlet by Bradninch and wanderers will be able to take a short stroll around the small community looking over folk's hedges and enjoy the peace and view. Will be ice creams and much more. We hope to lay on a minibus service.
Sadly we will not be having our wonderful choir this year but we are working hard to offer a range of music genres over the weekend throughout the gardens. More details on the day.
Teas and refreshments will be available at many of the gardens and many strolling minstrels, balladeers and the odd Morris or Belly Dancer thrown in, and classic cars. Also a display and sale of the works of local Artisans.
What more can be said of having a cake in one hand, a cup of tea or pimms in the other, with the sound of music wafting over sunlight gardens amongst friends?
Some gardens are not suitable for dogs - guide dogs welcome throughout.
The event raises funds for the Bradninch Music Festival and other local causes.
