Chelsworth, Suffolk Sunday 29th June 2025 11.00am to 5.00pm
Chelsworth is a picturesque village with its old and timbered houses, situated in the beautiful Brett valley. It is considered by many to be one of the prettiest in Suffolk.
This is the 56th year of the villagers opening their gardens. Our first year was 1967, and it was the first of its kind: the first to open its gardens to the public. Admission to the five gardens was half a-crown (12.5 pence) and a total of £150 was raised.
Today, Open Gardens Day raises several thousand pounds. As well as wandering through gardens with tea stops en-route, visitors can buy food from local specialists, artisan crafts and of course plants.
There will be a Vintage Tractor Rally passing through the village late morning and we are delighted that Hell Bells Morris Dancers will be performing again this year.
Tea, coffee, homemade cakes and a savoury option will be available to purchase at two of the gardens. The Peacock Pub will be serving refreshments and lunch platters.
Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome.
Proceeds Proceeds to support the fabric of our beautiful medieval church and other village charities.
Plant sales Plants are available from specialist nurseries as well as a village plant stall.
