Lillingstone Lovell Open Gardens
 | Please note This event has not run for a couple of years or more. If the event runs again and we get details, we'll add them, but in the meantime we include below event information from a previous year to remind you about the event. |
Lillingstone Lovell, Buckingham Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June 2019 12.00noon to 6.00pm (5.00pm Sunday)
In our 22nd year, a good number of gardens will be open for you to discover, including two celebrated NGS gardens.
The centre of this small north Buckinghamshire village is a beautiful conservation area. The focal point being the 13th Century church, which will be decorated with flower displays, where bell ringing and organ music will add to the atmosphere.
Paintings will be displayed in the picture framing and conservation studio in the delightful cottage gardens of 9 Brookside and Little Thatch. Also in this garden you will find an artist blacksmith with a fired-up forge and a range of innovative creations in metal.
Snack lunches, homemade vegetarian soup and refreshments will be served from midday in the Village Hall. Our famous afternoon cream teas will be served with delicious home-baked scones, cakes and strawberry flans - including gluten-free options.
We have again invited the proud owners of Classic Cars to bring them along to create a static display of nostalgia, for everyone to admire these feats of design, style and engineering.
Look out for the bee keeping exhibition, art in the barn, second-hand books and craft stalls. For the children who may be strolling with you, we have devised another special Treasure Hunt with rewards.
Lillingstone Lovell is a dog-friendly village and well-behaved dogs on leads are most welcome.
Proceeds to support new lighting for our 13th Century church and fibre optic broadband.

Plant sales Some gardeners will have home grown plants for sale and we have again invited Dave Snapes, who has a passion for wildflowers and cottage garden perennials, who will be offering a wide selection of plants from his nursery of Blisworth Wild Flowers.
Cost £6.00 per person - accompanied under 16s free. With so much to see, it makes sense to come on Saturday - if you run out of time you can then use your ticket again on the Sunday.
How to get event passports Having parked your car (follow the signs), please go to the admissions table under a gazebo.
