Bradwell, Hope Valley, Derbyshire Saturday 6th August 2022 10.00am to 5.00pm
Bradwell gardeners are looking forward to welcoming visitors to our gardens in the Peak District village of Bradwell in the Hope Valley.
Bradwell is a fascinating village to explore with little lanes and paths connecting the tight-knit cottages with pretty gardens climbing up the valley on both sides. Higher up, there are views and vistas of the Hope Valley and Bradwell Edge and larger gardens to explore.
Two routes round the village start from St. Barnabas Church - choose one, or come for the day and do them both. There are several pubs and other places where you can get refreshments, as well as a café on Town Bottom selling the famous Bradwell Ice Cream. Judging of hanging baskets takes place in Carnival week, together with a garden scarecrow competition. These will also be marked up on your route.
This event is now organised by St. Barnabas PCC as part of Bradwell Well Dressing week. As well as the gardens there will be four wells to visit and exhibitions in the Church and Chapel where teas are available.
Proceeds will help to fund major repairs to St. Barnabas Churchyard, which are necessary as a consequence of severe surface water flooding incidents.
Plant sales Plants may be for sale in some of the gardens.
Cost £5.00 adults, accompanied under 12s free.
