North Dalton Open Gardens

This event is resting for 2024
Sorry, but North Dalton Open Gardens isn't running this year. We'll keep you posted about next year's event details when they are known, but in the meantime we include below details from a previous year to remind you about the event

approx 15 gardens opened North Dalton, East Yorkshire
Sunday 25th June 2023
10.00am to 4.00pm

North Dalton is a pretty East Yorkshire Village with a duck pond, a picturesque pub and a beautiful Norman church.

We are opening this year for the second time and there wil be a selection of gardens open scattered around the village. These will range from small courtyard gardens, vegetable gardens, perennial flower gardens through to a beautiful, (and usually completely private) walled garden owned by one of the historic homes in the village.

Some garden owners will provide refreshments as you explore the gardens. For example, in the sublimely beautiful courtyard of The Old Chapel, Rose and Robin will be selling Pimm's, strawberries and a some of their artwork including a selection of original oil paintings of Sunflowers (the national emblem of Ukraine), the proceeds of which will go to the Disaster Emergency Committee.

We will have the Beverley Community Choir performing in the Walled Garden and other musical events around the village. Acclaimed cellist Christina Waldock has kindly agreed to do a recital (or two!) in selected gardens on the day. Come and be amazed by the beauty of her music in the tranquil environs of North Dalton.

The church will also be open - don't miss the rare and beautiful William Morris window.

There will be a children's treasure hunt trail, and there is a children's playground sited next to the village hall, so please bring your family.

All proceeds will go to the support and maintenance of our village hall, a vital hub of the community.

Plant sales
We will have a selection of stalls from local garden centres and flower suppliers - bring your pocket money for a chance to purchase some lovely plants.

6.00 per adult, accompanied under 12s free. Your event passport will provide you with access to all gardens and events and includes a cup of tea and homemade cake or scone at the village hall.

How to get tickets / programmes
Event passports will be available to buy at the parking field and the village hall.
